Den Hartogh Logistics Management has started it's on-site logistics activities at Akzo Nobel Functional Chemicals in Herkenbosch. This includes the supply of operators who are responsible for all bulk liquid loadings and discharges, sampling and filter changes on the site. The in- and outbound transport is provided by various tank operators.

 

Functional Chemicals is part of the Akzo Nobel Chemicals Business Unit which has a revenue of EUR 4.4 billion in 2004. The Herkenbosch facility was originally built in 1926 and is now the European production unit for Dissolvine - a product which can be found in many consumer and agricultural products in daily use.

Den Hartogh Logistics Management has the role to focus on the logistics in and around the facility and to initiate & implement performance improvement programmes together with the local management. This has started with the supply of the operators and will continue during the future period.

Den Hartogh Logistics' value is the integration of a conceptual approach and actual implementation and investment in assets and resources to effect the improvement.
