The Challenge

Shell Chemicals is one of the global producers of chemical products. Their market and clients are located all over the world. Shell Chemicals was looking for a partner in Europe who would facilitate their distribution system as they wanted to emphasise their efforts on development, production and marketing. The special demand in this case was to design and implement a new supply chain that would meet their quality standards.


Our Solution

Den Hartogh Logistics provides Shell with a temporary storage facility of 10.000 tonnes on a yearly base. In Pernis, products are loaded and afterwards they are stored at the Den Hartogh Moerdijk storage terminal. From Moerdijk Shell’s clients can be serviced on single demand. This Supply Chain Solution is ideal for Shell, because of the network coverage of Den Hartogh Logistics. This way, Shell can supply their customers at a lower cost throughout Europe and can always produce on specification even when there is no current client demand. Den Hartogh also takes care of the temperature control of the products. That’s floating pipeline in optima forma!
